Development and sales of nutritional foods

Tokyo Powder has been developing protein-based nutritional foods since last year, and plans to launch them this spring or summer. You may suddenly think that it's food!? But there are reasons and feelings that we have learned from our own mistakes.

Importance of protein

"My nails break easily." there is no..."
I'm sure you've heard this kind of conversation, and you may have some ideas from your own experiences. These are often signs of protein deficiency.

As you know, climbing is a very high-intensity exercise that involves a series of anaerobic maximal strength moves. It is said that even people who do not exercise on a daily basis need about 1g of body weight per day, and climbers who do high-intensity exercise on a daily basis need about 2g of body weight per day (*depending on age and gender). increase. For climbers who are concerned about gaining weight, it will probably not be enough. As a result of not having enough, the symptoms mentioned above will appear.

The most important point is the symptom of "difficulty building muscle", because the muscles used during climbing do not store the amount of protein that is consumed to generate strength, so other muscles are broken down and converted into protein. It is strongly attributed to the phenomenon of consumption. For this reason, the muscles are not gaining, but they are decreasing. You're training hard to get stronger, but you're just getting used to the moves, and your body is losing muscle mass, fatigue, and strength. Conversely, if you're getting enough protein, the muscles you've used will recover, grow, and gain strength. This makes a huge difference. I have been training like this for over 15 years, which is very wasteful. And many climbers are still repeating the same training.

"Muscles are made in the kitchen". These are the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is famous in the muscle training world. We want to convey this fact to climbers. And if possible, I would like to create a flow in which you can enjoy taking in protein, studying the amount you need, having fun with muscle training menus, and boasting about your muscles.

Tokyo powder protein

Currently, we are developing a protein powder suitable for climbers and a protein bar that can be easily eaten between climbing. Completion is scheduled for spring/summer. Over the past few months, we've hit a number of obstacles, but we're finally able to announce that we're on track for production.

Protein is one of the three major nutrients, and it is particularly important and difficult to consume, and is the basis of nutrition. Similarly, there are basics to training cycles throughout the year. (Again, the climber always loses weight and goes full throttle. It's obvious that neither recovery nor increase in weight is normal). Protein is the first step in rethinking healthy climbing.
Through our efforts and products, we hope that as many climbers as possible who want to become strong can understand the importance of nutrition and recovery, and lead a strong and healthy climbing life. I couldn't be happier.

Also, I hope that these nutritional foods, the basic knowledge and advice related to them, and such new communication will become one of the attractions of the climbing gym shop. Once the product is about to be completed, we will announce it again on Twitter and the transaction page, so please wait for the follow-up report.

There are a lot of references and papers, but I will pick up a few and list them. If you are interested, search for "protein deficiency" or "training and nutrition" on Youtube, and you will find many paper summaries, so please take a look.
